| Presbyterian Women plans visit to
Africa
"Sisters Together: Listening
With Our Hearts"
[4-16-01]
Presbyterian Women is planning to send a group of 26 to 30 women from
the PC(USA) to meet some of their sisters in East and West Africa for a
period of two to two and a half weeks - tentatively in October 2002.
The purpose of the visit will be for the women to share their faith
journeys, to listen to the stories of ministries that give them great
joy, and to hear the concerns that trouble them.
At least one participant will be chosen from each of the 16 synods,
through application to the synod moderators of Presbyterian Women.
Applications are due no later than
September 1, 2001.
The approximate cost of the trip will be $4500. Each participant will be
responsible for her own finances, but Presbyterian Women in the
presbyteries, synods, and congregations are encouraged to support
participants from their areas.

Voices of Sophia blog
Heather Reichgott, who has created
this new blog for Voices of Sophia, introduces it:
After fifteen years of scholarship
and activism, Voices of Sophia presents a blog. Here, we present the
voices of feminist theologians of all stripes: scholars, clergy,
students, exiles, missionaries, workers, thinkers, artists, lovers
and devotees, from many parts of the world, all children of the God
in whose image women are made. .... This blog seeks to glorify God
through prayer, work, art, and intellectual reflection. Through
articles and ensuing discussion we hope to become an active and
thoughtful community. |
