Witherspoon's Silicon Valley Chapter |

next meeting of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Witherspoon Society
will be on Tuesday, March 5, at 4:00pm, at First Church, San Jose.
Among other things, the meeting will consider possible action on the

The Silicon Valley Chapter of the Witherspoon Society
reports that they hold monthly meetings at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday
of every month at First
Presbyterian Church, 49 North 4th Street, San Jose, CA 95112.

At their November 6th meeting they
discussed concerns for peacemaking in the Middle East, the coming vote
on Amendment A, and ways to support people of color as they are
subjected to hostility growing out of the September 11th
attacks. The group endorsed a statement by one of their members,
deploring acts of violence and calling on congregations to do all they
can to create a climate of acceptance of varieties of culture, language,
and dress.
Elder Jim Tennyson was elected as the new coordinator
of the group, replacing the Rev. Hans Frick, who is retiring from the
post. |
